• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 1 year of customer service, library, or administrative experience
• Familiarity with computers, internet research, and e-reader or tablet technology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher)
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assist patrons and work in a team-oriented public service environment
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform shelving tasks

Responsibilities

• Operate the library circulation desk, including opening and closing procedures
• Check in and check out books, periodicals, and other library materials
• Shelve materials and maintain accurate organization of library stacks
• Assist patrons in locating materials using the electronic catalog system and library databases
• Provide basic technology support for library computers, printers, and internet access
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of library shelves and public spaces
• Catalog and maintain magazines and other library materials
• Assist with library events, educational programs, and community activities such as story time, book clubs, and seasonal programs
• Create promotional materials including flyers, bookmarks, and event displays
• Support development of monthly event calendars and programming schedules
• Help promote library services within the community by distributing materials to local organizations and businesses
