Schedule: Monday-Friday 2pm to 1130pm (occasional Saturdays)

Looking for Yard Hostler jobs in Carson that keep you close to home while putting your Class A CDL to work? This opportunity offers professional local driving with a focus on safety, reliability, and delivering exceptional service every day.

Enjoy a hands-on driving role where you keep freight moving! You’ll operate a yard goat to move trailers between docks in a fast-paced yard environment. You will also shuttle containers from one yard to another.If you’re an experienced hostler who enjoys staying busy, maneuvering trailers, and putting your driving skills to work, we’d love to hear from you!

• Yard hostlers will drive and maneuver yard goat & trailers from dock to dock switching out empty trailers with full trailers to keep production moving.
• Safety is always the key, so driver must be safety minded, perform pre and post trips daily, chock rear wheels
• Be aware of safety hazards in all weather conditions, and check trailers before pulling away from the dock doors.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, moving approximately 60+ moves per shift, with a VERY tight yard
• Driver must have strong communication skills as they will be interacting and taking direction from dispatchers, or warehouse managers on a consistent basis through radio and on board computer system.

Experience Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and vehicle safety procedures.
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation.
• Experience safely operating tractor-trailers in a professional environment.
• Strong communication skills, time management, and commitment to customer service.
• 22 years of age or older
• Valid Class A license
• Valid Medical Card
• 1 year or more Class A Yard Hostling experience within the last 3 years.
• Driver may not exceed any combination of 3 moving violations and/or preventable accidents on their MVR in the past 36 months.
• NO DUI’S / DWI’S in the past 5 years
• NO Reckless Driving in the past 5 years.
