Now hiring for a CDL A Yard Hostler
Location: Union, OH
Pay Rate: $30.24 per hour
Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday | 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Work for a nationally recognized brand as a CDL A Yard Hostler in the Dayton, OH area. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers a fast hiring process and immediate start availability for qualified drivers.

Job Duties

  • Move and position dry van trailers throughout warehouse and distribution yards.
  • Operate yard tractors, spotter trucks, and trailer spotting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Transport trailers between local warehouse facilities in the Dayton area.
  • Perform drop-and-hook trailer movements and trailer spotting activities.
  • Back trailers into dock doors and maneuver equipment in tight yard environments.
  • Ensure equipment inspections and safe operating procedures are followed.
  • Communicate with warehouse and transportation teams regarding trailer movements.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow all DOT and company safety requirements.
Driving Requirements
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • DOT Medical Card
  • FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR
  • 1 year CDL experience (within the past 3 years)
  • No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (within the past 3 years)
  • No DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations (within the past 5 years)
  • Previous Yard Hostler, Spotter, or Yard Jockey experience preferred.
  • Strong backing and trailer maneuvering skills required.
  • Ability to safely operate yard tractors and dry van trailers.
  • Comfortable driving on public roads between local facilities.
  • Distribution center or warehouse transportation experience preferred.
