Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Job Duties

  • Operate manual and/or powered grinding and finishing equipment to produce precision components.
  • Perform grinding, deburring, blending, polishing, and other finishing operations according to specifications.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, excess material, weld spatter, and surface imperfections from machined or fabricated components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Inspect finished and in-process components to verify dimensions, tolerances, surface condition, and overall quality.
  • Make adjustments to grinding and finishing processes as necessary to maintain quality requirements.
  • Select appropriate wheels, abrasives, tooling, and hand tools for assigned work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform routine care and basic maintenance of grinding equipment and tools.
  • Identify quality issues and communicate discrepancies to supervisors or quality personnel.
  • Complete required production and inspection documentation accurately.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
  • Work effectively with machinists, inspectors, supervisors, and other production personnel.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or production training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

  • Ability to work safely in manufacturing and production environments.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity and consistent quality.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate basic production equipment when required.
  • Dependable attendance, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Previous experience in precision grinding, deburring, metal finishing, machining, fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, or related equipment.
  • Ability to use basic precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Finishing Operator.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
  • Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
