Location: Stafford Springs, CT
Pay Rate: $24.00 – $32.00 per hour
Schedule: 1st shift 7 am – 4:30 pm

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC equipment within the Fabrication Department while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid math skills, the ability to read blueprints, and a willingness to learn and assist throughout the manufacturing operation.

Job Duties

  • Operate CNC Mills, Lasers, and Turret Press equipment
  • Maintain the highest quality standards and stop production when quality requirements are not being met
  • Perform first-piece inspections as required
  • Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing specifications
  • Deburr and finish parts as required
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
  • Develop an understanding of all aspects of the Fabrication Department
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of CNC programming
  • Assist in other areas of the company as needed
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment.
  • Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a CNC Operator.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
