Now hiring: Ocean Import Specialist
Location: Torrance, CA
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour
Shift: 8:30 AM – 5 PM | Monday-Friday

Requirements & Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in ocean imports, freight forwarding, or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping processes and import regulations.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, customs procedures, and import documentation.
  • Cargo Wise experience is strongly preferred and highly desired.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities & Job Duties: 

  • Manage ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery.
  • Track and trace shipments while proactively resolving delays and exceptions.
  • Coordinate with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, trucking companies, and other service providers.
  • Review and process import documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other governing agencies.
  • Partner with customs brokers to facilitate timely customs clearance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment status and updates.
  • Provide timely communication, problem resolution, and shipment milestone updates.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Accurately enter shipment information into CargoWise and other transportation management systems.
  • Maintain organized shipment files and ensure data integrity.
  • Generate reports and provide shipment status updates as needed.
