Position Title: Junior Sales Representative (Bilingual Japanese/English)

Location: Torrance, CA

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

 

Summary

The employer is a premier global sales organization specializing in the electronics industry. As an affiliate of a major international trading firm, they maintain an extensive vendor network across Japan, the U.S., Asia, and Europe. They provide critical components, materials, and equipment for cutting-edge applications, including telecom, automotive, semiconductors, and medical technologies. They are currently seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to manage and expand client relationships within this global framework.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining and strengthening long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure continued satisfaction and business growth.
  • Proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Acting as a bilingual facilitator and interpreter during business meetings between U.S.-based and Japanese organizations.
  • Preparing professional proposals, quotations, and administrative documentation.
  • Delivering persuasive sales presentations to potential and existing stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and global vendors to meet client needs and achieve sales targets.
  • Traveling domestically within the U.S. and internationally to Japan (approximately 1–2 times per year) for client engagements and vendor meetings.

 

Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills; must be comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders globally.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to execute tasks independently and respond quickly to evolving business needs.
  • A positive, forward-thinking attitude with the flexibility to handle a variety of administrative and sales-driven tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Email, Excel data entry, and basic calculations).

Required

  • Fluency in English and Japanese (minimum daily conversational level) with the ability to perform interpretation duties.
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • A valid Driver’s License.

Preferred

  • While previous sales experience is valued, it is not required; the company provides comprehensive On-the-Job Training (OJT) for the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with the electronics, semiconductor, or automotive industries.

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
